Distinction Hotels Group Diversifies Portfolio with New Plymouth Hotel

Distinction Hotels is delighted to announce the latest addition to its New Zealand owned and operated hotel group – Grand Central Hotel, New Plymouth.

Distinction Hotels will lease the Taranaki property with a commencement of operations from 23 Nov 2020, when it will be rebranded to Distinction New Plymouth Hotel & Conference Centre.

Located in the heart of the CBD and just 15 minutes drive from the airport, the 4 star hotel offers 60 spacious guest rooms, suites and apartments. Most offer spa baths and some also feature cooking facilities. Complimentary car parking, free unlimited WiFi and access to the hotel gym is available to guests during their stay.

The iconic property is currently operating as a limited services hotel, but Distinction Hotels plan to re-open the on-site restaurant and bar as well as the comprehensive conference facilities, catering for up to 225 people.

With its latest acquisition, the Distinction Hotels Group now has a collection of 14 hotels in locations throughout New Zealand.
